Meet the Dentists

Dr Andrew Nowell, graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1999. Andrew then completed a year of postgraduate vocational training before working in general practice in England for 2 years. After working in private practice in Sydney, Australia. Andrew joined a group practice in Drogheda, working there for 5 years before setting up Boroimhe Dental Practice in July 2008. A member of the Irish Dental Association, Andrew has a keen interest in postgraduate education, regularly attending training courses and seminars including the University of Warwick 1 year implant course He is a certified provider of the Clear Smile Brace, Inman aligner & Six Month Smiles anterior alignment orthodontic systems. Andrew is currently preparing for the MGDS RCSI. He is married with two young children.



Dr Ciara Cunniffe graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2011. Ciara then completed a year of vocational training in England during which time she was involved in numerous CPD courses. She then returned to Dublin and has been working in general practice since. She maintains her interest in post graduate education and is a certified Six Month Smiles provider. Ciara also has a keen interest in charity work. She has been a volunteer with Oxfam Ireland for over 10 years and has travelled to both India and Haiti on volunteer trips where she provided dentistry to the locals free of charge.


Dr Caoimhín Ó Scanaill qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2013. Caoimhín went on to complete a vocational training year with the Mersey Deanery in Liverpool and continued on in the UK working in general dental practice. During his time in the UK, Caoimhín completed his membership examinations for the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh as well as obtaining a masters in Dental Implantology with the University of Central Lancashire.
Caoimhín enjoys gaelic football and running in his spare time.



Hugh is a Registered Clinical Dental Technician, providing patients with full and partial dentures as well as looking after all their day to day denture needs. Uniquely qualified, he was a member of the very first class of Dental Technicians to gain third level qualifications in Ireland, receiving a Diploma in Dental Technology from Trinity College in 1992. 18 months later he opened Swords Denture Centre. In 2016 after almost 2 years further study, he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology entitling him to register with the Irish Dental Council and treat patients directly. He brings a wealth of experience to the practice for all your denture requirements.
